We’ve worked with a lot of couples to plan the perfect honeymoon in Tanzania, and we’ve picked up quite a few hints and tips along the way – that’s one of the biggest benefits of working with experts, you get all the extra knowledge.
Get the most out of your trip, with these top tips:
Consider arranging your trip as beach then safari, or even beach-safari-beach, so you have a little time to relax after the excitement of the wedding, before jumping into the action of a safari
Choose a tailor-made, bespoke safari so you get to go to the places you want to see, rather than following an off-the-rack itinerary
If you have your heart set on an African honeymoon, plan your wedding date to match. Tanzania and Zanzibar are at their best from late June to early October. If you want to see the wildebeest migration, plan a June or July honeymoon, and if diving and snorkeling are top of your list, plan for August or September.
Ask for private guides for a more personal experience for just the two of you. We can arrange private game drives
Pick internal flights rather than long drives if you’re staying in a few different places – don’t let the trip tire you out, travel between your lodges or camps faster
Don’t forget your mosquito repellent – no one wants to spend their honeymoon scratching!
One question we’re often asked is what the food will be like. We’re happy to say that the food in Tanzania is top notch. The chefs at each lodge take great pride in creating delicious dishes that include local specialities and incorporate international trends. If you have special dietary requirements, the chefs are always happy to help make sure you have something tasty to eat – talk to us as early as possible in your planning, so we can work with you on getting everything in place, no matter your needs.
We'd recomend visiting Kilimanjaro during the months in green.
