Tamassa

Tamassa is so much fun. Set in the scenic south of Mauritius, this quality all inclusive resort suits those who want to keep busy and get involved in activities.

Tamassa is from the impressive ‘Lux’ stable and has been expertly designed to make all inclusive holidays orginal and fun.  A refreshing alternative to the conventional tropical resorts, Tamassa is a modern yet thoroughly Mauritian destination for fun family holidays.  At Tamassa, everything is designed for a pamper and play approach to life: there’s an endless array of activities, both on land and in the water, for children and adults alike; but the resort also invites relaxation, with the most beautiful beach this side of the island, a fabulous spa, well-spaced pools and shady coconut palms dotting verdant gardens. There’s always something to do for everyone here…even if all you want to do is…absolutely nothing at all!

The all inclusive concept features meals in any of the restaurants, not to mention a generous selection of soft and alcoholic drinks, including carefully selected wines, as well as beach and pool service. However, it’s definitely not all about the food and drink. From land and water sports, to daily resort activities, fabulous entertainment, access to gym and sauna, yoga and stretching classes…it’s all included in your package.

There are 214 sea view rooms, all offering sea views and a bright and stylish interiors.  All the rooms are almost identical in set up, with either a balcony or terrace, large baths, wifi access, and the difference between the Standard, Superior and Beach categories is purely based on your location within the resort.  There are also 8 Family Rooms which consist of 2 interconnecting bedrooms, both with en suites and a shared terrace area.  The Family Rooms are highly recommended if travelling with children, especially teens.

There are two main restaurants to choose from, a bar and even a nightclub.  The LuxMe Spa is very spacious with excellent treatments.  PLAY is children’s club, and there is also Studio 17 for teens.

The reason that we like this resort though is because of the originality of the Lux hotel group.  The concept here could be cheesy and only suitable for a more mainstream package holiday company, but it isn’t.  We like that the quality of food and service is kept very good, the hotel still has all the ‘Lux’ touches, things like film screenings on the beach, and the coffee is good, as are the wine lists.  For a trip with active teens, Tamassa would be very good value and a lot of fun.
