Selous Kulinda Camp

Accommodation is 14 large tented suites which are raised up above ground level and are under a thatched roof.  There are spacious decks from where you can chill out with a sundowner and the 5 Deluxe Tents have large plunge pools.  Inside the bedrooms are lovely and private with four poster double or twin beds and tasteful interior design.  The rooms are very romantic and popular with honeymoon couples.

The main lodge area has a restaurant and small pool area overlooking the  Rufiji river.

Walking, fishing, river safaris and village visits are possible from here, and game drives in the nearby Selous Game Reserve.  It takes around 15 minutes to drive to the Mtemere Gate from camp, then around half an hour to reach the better game areas.

The team at Selous Kulinda Camp are friendly and the service and value is good.  It is a nice lodge and guests who stay here have good feedback.

We generally do not recommend to stay outside of the Selous Game Reserve, as while there are very pleasant places to stay, being separated from the wildlife makes for a very different safari experience – although you will see plenty of hippos and monkeys from camp and the occasional leopard has been seen.  However, if having more creature comforts or a plunge pool is essential for you and your budget does not stretch to some of the luxury camps inside the reserve, Selous Kulinda Camp might be your very happy compromise.
