Rivertrees Country Inn

Rivertrees Country Inn, is located almost halfway between Kilimanjaro and Arusha, in natural gardens along the Usa river. The lodge combines old world ambiance, African country elegance, excellent farm cuisine, personal service and a genuine warmth.

The location is perfect for customers who arrive on an early flight into Kilimanjaro and would like somewhere quiet and relaxed to recover from a long flight . Alternatively if you arrive late in the evening it works well when a quick and convenient transfer to your lodge is appreciated.

There are 18 individually styled garden rooms, 2 hidden cottages and the River House — a secluded thatched cottage on the Usa River which has hosted many high profile guests over the years.

Fresh country meals are served in the restaurant, the gardens, the pub, and near the river or in the beautifully restored farmhouse with its warm ochre colors and cherished family antiques.

The old farm house, dining area and bar are cosily furnished and compliment the surroundings. Fascinating photographs and furnishings reflect life in a bygone era, and paintings and book shelves line the walls. Inviting fire places ward off the evening chill and the country-style kitchen rounds off the picture of a peaceful, African home.

This is one of our favourite lodges in Arusha with a genine feel, attention to detail and high comfort levels. A super spot.
