Deception Valley Lodge

Deception Valley Lodge is located just outside the northern border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR). An excellent area for game viewing in the summer months and genuine interaction with the local San bushmen.

Deception Valley Lodge, on the outskirts of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, is a beautifully constructed  and furnished lodge. The whole place has an ethnic African theme and was built to fit into the surrounding bush without altering, damaging or detracting from its ambience and colour.

Attention has been given to every detail ensuring you a completely different experience, in an arid Kalahari bush land stretching for miles. Each of the eight chalets stands separately, on stilts connected with the main lodge by wooden walkways.

The main complex boasts a dining room, lounge and bar area decorated in warm Kalahari colours making use of Bushmen and other African artefacts. From the deck you can view activities at the nearby water hole. A curio shop and small library forms part of the complex.

A swimming pool situated close to the main complex really enhances the relaxtion options for guests. A traditional boma also features prominently during the evenings as a location where guests can enjoy their dinner while gazing across the amzingly clear night sky.

Six of the eight chalets consist of luxury twin bedded rooms with en-suite Victorian style bathroom, an outside shower and a private spacious lounge. There is also a chalet with 2 inter-leading rooms for families. All units are fitted with ceiling fans, mosquito nets and a private mini-bar.
