Rustic and simple in style and character, Lake Manze is an exciting experience for those who are happy without all their creature comforts whilst being out in the bush.
Opened in July 2007, this camp is situated on the banks of Lake Manze. This area is one of the richest for game in the entire Selous, both in the dry and the wet season.
Tented rooms are raised up slightly on raised earth mounds which stand above the floodplain and have good views across the lake. From your tent your are perfectly situated to enjoy the morning ritual: elephants trampling across an old, well-worn elephant trail in front of the camp towards the river. The twelve Meru style walk-in tents, each with twin or double beds, flush toilet, outdoor shower and private veranda, are comfortable and spacious.
Lake Manze dining takes place in the thatched dining area in the daytime and under the stars outside at night, with a campfire and Maasai to guard.
Good mix of driving, walking and boat safaris are available from the camp.
This is one of Safari&Beach’s favourite camps. Whilst it maynot be superlux, it is perfectly comfortable and, with such a prime location, we believe it offers an unrivalled safari experience for the pricetag.
