Baladin is one of our new favourite places in Zanzibar and is extremely well run. The hotel is located in Pingwe, on the long stretch of sandy beach that continues from Bwejuu on the eastern side of the island.
The hotel has a really cool vibe: Ibiza meets Zanzibar, with a fabulous restaurant on site (popular on the island). Whilst small in size, it only has 12 rooms, the hotel has broad water frontage with plenty of places to enjoy the fantastic sea views and take in the Zanzibar atmosphere.
The rooms are beautifully designed and well kitted out without being OTT. All rooms are gathered around the hotel’s pool which looks directly out to sea. The 8 two-storey bungalows have twin beds downstairs and a double upstairs under the makuti roof, making them great for families or small groups. The villa is made up of four en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms with a double and single bed. Flexible accommodation arrangements can be made to combine 2 rooms on the same floor via a connecting door or rent the entire house which is perfect for larger groups. The en-suite bathroom comes complete with a large bathtub with vintage bronze style fittings.
Spa treatments, yoga and jacuzzi are also available on site.
