Located in the western sector of Ruaha, close to Mdonta Falls, the camp is set up in a simple and aesthetic style. Like it’s “sister” camp, Selous Lake Manze. Mdonya Old River is excellent value for money.
The camp consists of 11 large “meru” style tents, with relaxing, open verandahs at the front and ensuite bathrooms at the back.
Dining and lounge tents are under Acacias and Sycamore Figs overlooking the dry riverbed. This dry riverbed is used by game as a corridor, so guests can enjoy game viewing whilst having breakfast, lunch or simply relaxing.
There are comfortable sitting areas, a small library and interesting wildlife artifacts, plus you will find hides at both ends of the camp where you can sit and watch the game pass by all day.
Very friendly and attentive staff who encourage a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Good quality guiding.
