Saruni Samburu is a ‘design’ lodge located 7km north of Samburu National Reserve, in Kenya’s wild north.
Surrounded by 95,000 hectares of private wildlife conservancy, and perched on top of a spectacular viewpoint, its four rooms and large swimming pool overlook several waterholes where the famous Samburu elephant, leopard, reticulated giraffe, Oryx and Grevy’s zebra gather to drink. The vastness and purity of this African landscape, combined with the untouched local culture, make your safari a unique experience.
As well as game drives that include Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and West Gate Conservancy, the traditions and semi-nomadic heritage of the local Samburu people are an important part of the experience. Led by professional Samburu guides, guests enjoy a new dimension of this rightfully popular region: the feeling of exclusivity, of having an incredibly large area to themselves, and a high level of comfort and tailor-made service.
Incredibly spacious and decorated in a unique North African style, Saruni Samburu’s large rooms are better described as ‘houses’, each with its own private seating and dining area. The 2 en-suite houses each have one bedroom, with en suite dressing room and bathroom (hot running water, shower, bath and flush toilet), private dining and seating area and veranda. The 2 houses consist of two bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin bedroom), each with their own en suite dressing room and bathroom (hot running water, shower, bath and flush toilet), and a shared dining and seating area with veranda. All rooms can fit extra beds, to accommodate children under the age of 16yrs only.
This is a fantastic place to stay for the rooms and their views alone. To access game requires a short drive but , if you’re a regular safari goer, this is somewhere that should be on your bucket list.
