Chamilandu Camp

Chamilandu Camp is one of six intimate and exclusive bush camps operated by the Bushcamp Company in the unspoilt wilderness of South Luangwa National Parks remote and undeveloped southern sector.

Chamilandu Camp is a beautiful small camp with a perfect location on the banks of the Luangwa River with views of the Chindeni Hills. A series of 7 ox-bow lagoons behind the camp yield a diversity of wildlife and attract abundant wildlife.

The three unique tree-house chalets are set high on wooden decks and made of thatch and reeds. The rooms are an elegant design with wrought iron beds, open air showers, double washbasin and flush loos. Each rooms has a private deck with a perfect views over the water.

The main area is a large thatched building with a waist-high reed wall on three sides that opens out onto the banks of the river. This space acts as the lounge, dining, bar and library with an open camp fire area close by.

The camps activities are aligned towards walking safaris although day and night game drives are available. The camp also has a hide alongside one of the lagoons where guests can enjoy lunch and watch the elephants and other animals bathe and feed close by.

All the Bushcamp Company’s camps are within walking distance of each other, allowing you to choose, to experience each camp individually, walk through the park by day and camp at a new location at night or to relax for the entire duration of your stay in the camp of your choice.
