The Residence is a world class hotel, addressing all the needs of the modern traveller seeking guaranteed luxury. The hotel is ideal for some beach time after your safari, or for an extended holiday with the family.

Accommodation comprises 135 rooms and 28 suites, each with a private balcony or terrace, are divided into 7 categories: 41 Colonial Garden View rooms, 56 Colonial Ocean View rooms, 38 Colonial Ocean Front rooms, 8 Colonial Garden View Junior Suites, 10 Colonial Garden View Senior Suites, 2 Colonial Ocean View Suites, 8  Colonial Ocean Front Suites.

All rooms and suites have a king size or twin beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, desk, living area, 32” flatscreen TV sets with in-house movie and music channels, DVD/CD player, internet access, a fully stocked personal bar and a direct dial telephone with voice mail system. The large marble bathroom is equipped with a separate bathtub and shower cabin and walk-in wardrobe.

Colonial Garden View Junior Suites enjoy an adjoining living space while Colonial Garden View Senior Suites have a separate living room. All suites feature two flat-screen TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) DVD/CD player and tea and coffee facilities, Ocean View and Ocean Front Suites have four-poster beds. The living room hosts a computer with free internet access, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar, two flat-screen TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) and DVD/CD player. The Colonial Ocean Front Suites enjoy a second bathroom and large terrace with ocean views.

There is a private butler service for every room and suite, in-room guest registration, unpacking service, fresh fruits and bottled water offered by the pool/beach and good internet access.

Complimentary activities include: water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, canoe-kayak, snorkelling and 3 floodlit tennis courts, aerobics, volley-ball and aerobics. Also available (at a charge) deep-sea fishing, catamaran cruise, scuba diving, under sea walk, horse riding and golf.

The Planters Kids Club (Open from 9:30 am to 10:00 pm) offers plenty of activities for children aged 3 to 12 years, in a safe haven supervised by a young professionally-trained team. The Club also offers various leisure pursuits for teenagers and a payable babysitting service for smaller children. One of the twentyfive channels in the hotel shows cartoons and films for children.

The Sanctuary Spa houses 8 treatment rooms offering a wide range of treatments and therapies, using La Prairie or local products as preferred.

The Bar (Open from 10:30 am to midnight), the heart of the hotel and, with comfortable sofas and armchairs, it is the ideal venue to enjoy a late breakfast, traditional afternoon tea or an evening cocktail. A Jazz trio or pianist play every evening until midnight.

The Dining Room (Open from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm) enjoys panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Serving long, leisurely breakfasts and elegant fine dining in the evening.

The Verandah (Open from noon to 3:00 pm) offers an impressive selection of light dishes, sandwiches, oven cooked pizzas, generous salads and delicious desserts, overlooking the hotel’s expansive swimming pool and the ocean beyond.

The Plantation (Open from noon to 3:00 pm and from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm) based on a traditional plantation house, enjoys a spectacular oceanfront setting, offers the freshest seafood and Mauritian Creole cuisine for lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy local dancers and entertainment several times a week!

The Gourmet Kiosque (Open from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm) Located close to the swimming pool, serving delicious sweet snacks such as waffles, pancakes and an assortment of ice creams.
