Rhino Post Safari Lodge is located within the Kruger National Park in the southern sector of it’s own 12000 ha concession and shares it’s boundry fence with famous Mala Mala Reserve. Here the game can wander freely and, as such, this region will provide you with a more in-depth Big Five game viewing experience, when compared with it’s sister camp Rhino Walking Safari – Plains Camp where you specialise in walking safaris. At this Safari Lodge your game viewing is done in 4×4 vehicle so you can get close to the Big Game.
There are no permanent structures, so Rhino Post Safari Lodge was built using natural materials of stone, wood and thatch under canvas giving you an authentic bush ambiance. Each of the luxury suites are exquisetly decorated and include spacious bedroom with fabulous views over the riverbed. Each room has en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower and wooden deck with comfy chars where you may sit and relax and watch the river bed for animal activity.
The main lodge area offers a comfy lounge with fireplace, wine cellar and bar where guests congregate before game drives and evening dinner. There is a lovely pool area with sun lounges. Dinner can be served indoors, on the deck under the magical Tamboti Trees.
There is a communal lounge and dining area with an outdoor fire pit where you can sit and listen to the animal sounds at night with a warming nightcap following your evening meal.
A typical day’s safari will include an early morning wake up call followed by a 3 -4 hours game drive. You will return to camp as it gets hotter in the morning where you can relax in the shade, have lunch and then in the afternoon, head out once more for a game drive and enjoy sundowners before returning to camp. Bush Sleepouts can be arranged but are weather dependent.
Those looking for a less expensive Big Five game viewing experience will be blown away by the value for money this stunning authentic safari lodge offers. If you are planning on a 5/6 days safari, then a 3 night stay here combined with sister Rhino Plains Walking Safari Camp where you can enjoy 2 days of walking safaris will give you the ultimate thrill.

We had a brilliant time thanks and it is a shock to the system being back in the cold and at work!! Lagoon Camp was excellent, a great recommendation – we saw a pack of wild dogs on 2 occasions – not a kill, but they were hunting a herd of wildebeest and it was quite a sighting.
