Tick two wonderful boxes on this delightful trip to Uganda & Kenya. Stay in the Bwindi forest in Uganda for some quality gorilla trekking, followed by three nights on the beach in Diani at one of our favourite boutique beach hotels in Africa. To break the journey we recommend a night in Nairobi in the luxury Hemingways Hotel where you can opt for a trip to the nearby elephant orphanage or giraffe sanctuary.
Travel to the Virunga Mountains stay at the eco chic Clouds Mountain Lodge. This is a beautiful chalet style hotel and, if it weren’t for the fantastic views of the volcanoes with lush vegetation, you could be forgiven for believing you were in the alps. Clouds Mountain Lodge is a luxury hotel with large terraces and very comfortable public areas to relax after your day’s activity.
At crack of dawn you will start your adventure into the mountains and trek in search of the habituated Gorilla groups. Bwindi Forest is also home to several other primates including chimpanzees and plenty of birdlife.
Guests may also wish to extend this trip by visiting the nearby Queen Elizabeth Park for some big game safari.
From Bwindi you will take the short flight back to Entebbe to connect to your flight to Nairobi. Here you will be transferred to the luxury Hemingways hotel in Karen for a comfortable overnight’s stay. If time permits we recommend taking a trip to the nearby Giraffe sanctuary or elephant orphanage where you could even adopt an elephant.
The next day you will transfer to Nairobi Wilson airport for your short flight to Diani beach.
Kinondo Kwetu is a classy boutique hotel in Diani. It is one of our favourite beach places to stay. If swahili chic interiors with local antiques and beautiful artwork floats your boat then this is definitely for you. The hotel sprawls a large beach with several buildings which give a real feeling of space. Enjoy 3 nights of pure relaxation, beach fun and good food before your return connections back home. Remember, all our trips are tailor made so, for example, if you wanted to add a few days in the Masai Mara or stay on the beach a little longer, it’s all doable. Your time: your choice.
A top trip for those wanting to combine prime primate interaction with top beach chill and excellent flight connections – all within just over a week’s holiday. It doesn’t get much better than this for contrast versus your usual 9-5.
We'd recomend visiting Uganda : Luxury Gorillas & Beach during the months in green.
