Bird Island is an untouched coral island outpost, the most northerly of the Seychelles archipelago, which is a mecca for seabirds, turtles and surrounded by pristine reef. It is stunning, unspoilt and real.

Between May and October, Bird Island becomes the nesting site of millions of Sooty Turns. Sir David Attenborough stayed here to film the colony, and the lodge team are proud guardians and enthusiasts for the birds. For birders, there are also 20 or more endemic species to watch.
A stay here is not luxurious at all, but the 24 bungalows are very comfortable, with four poster beds and mosquito nets. There is no pool, no air-conditioning, no- TV’s or gadgets, almost no mobile coverage and certainly no bling. It really is an opportunity to enjoy the Seychelles without the trappings of a modern world.
Dining is generally a Creole buffet or barbeque, with fresh fish and home grown vegetables. Guests often sit together and socialise.
Bird Island will be too rustic for some, but for those was appreciate its natural wonder, it offers a super experience and is exceptional value for money. Go for a week and relax into island life.
